Wood Recovery Project

In 2018, Storm Vaia devastated the Fiemme Valley, felling millions of trees and creating the conditions for a severe bark beetle pest – also favoured by exceptional seasonal weather, which contributed to destroying the forest ecosystem further, thus compromising its biodiversity.

These are the events that make us feel even more responsible towards our territory, which has always been one of the pillars of the value system of our company.  This is the reason why we have decided to give back to nature what it offers us every day for the creation of our products.  It is from this vision that Wood Recovery Project was developed.

In 2025, on the occasion of our 50th anniversary, we are launching this 5-year project dedicated to the protection and recovery of the woods of the Fiemme Valley, especially of the Canzenagol biotope, a protected area of the European Union.  This unique habitat accommodates rare flora and fauna species and plays a fundamental role in water control and in the fight against climate change.

Wood Recovery Project consists of initiatives aimed at the reforestation of the surrounding area and of actions to increase the absorption of carbon dioxide, with the goal of protecting biodiversity and landscape, improve air quality and reduce hydrogeological risks.

In order to do this, the project also includes forest cleaning operations, actions of active preservation and awareness activities addressed to both the local community and visitors. In addition, every year we will commit to planting a tree for each sauna sold and each visitor welcomed at Casa Starpool: in this way, our guests and clients will directly take part in this journey of environmental rebirth. Each planted tree will represent our hope and commitment for a more sustainable future.
